Homeward Bound

Well, she went on quite an adventure, but Tegra is home!!! Thanks to the Cribbs of Georgetown, TX. On Saturday while we were in Brenham for a TaeKwonDo Tournament, Tegra was noticed on the west shoulder of I-35W, about 4 miles south of our exit, by a retired couple traveling home to Austin. By the time they had exited and turned their RV around, Tegra was in the median of the highway. Yikes! They had to lure her with a steak onto the RV, where they proceeded to try and locate us for an hour before heading back home. Since Tegra's tag only had my cell phone number on it, and we were in the boonies with no signal, they left me a message and finally headed back to their home with Tegra in tow. Mrs. Cribbs said she slept the entire 2+ hour trip. When they got home, Mrs. Cribbs got on the internet trying to locate us from the information on my message, which only says AGA Appraisals. We got home Saturday night around 7pm, and at 8pm our home phone rang and on the other end was a sweet lady saying that she had our Tegra. We had to drive to Georgetown the next morning and sure enough there was our old girl, tail tucked, skinny, not feeling well, but alive! We cannot thank the Cribbs enough for doing everything they did to rescue Tegra...not many people would take the time and effort that they did and we are so grateful. Well, 2 days later, she's been to the vet, who says she looks okay, and to the groomer for a nice bath and flea dip. She is sleeping a lot because we upped her arthritis medication and her food intake. We take her on very short walks every few hours and she's really doing great. We don't know how much more time we'll have with her, so we've just decided to spoil her as much as we can for the rest of her days. We're just so relieved to have her back. It seems everyone has their own personal connection with Tegra. Thank you for your concern and for all your prayers. Photobucket

Yay! Tegra made it home! What a journey she went on! How nice of the Cribbs to do everything they could to make sure she was back with her family. Not many people would do that these days.

I'm sooo happy she's home with you guys again :)
