A Night at the Ballpark
Last night we went to the Ballpark in Arlington to see the Rangers whoop up on the Angels. Troy's speech therapist, Julian, gave us free tickets which was great! Ian Kinsler and Josh Hamilton hit homers for the Rangers. An Angel hit a homerun in the area where the little kids can run out on the grass and fight for the ball. The kid that got the ball threw it back on the field. Haha! Troy is not really a baseball fan, but I just loved every minute of it. It just reminded me of watching my brothers play and keeping score for my dad, who was usually the coach. The good ole' days. Anyway, Hamilton's homerun was hit just to the left of our seats...his longest homerun EVER at 406'. He also gave us a goofy little dance at the end of the game in center field which was pretty funny. It was a fun night! Here's a video of the 2-run shot!
The picture above is the very shot.
They even had fireworks after the game, and some during as well. So much fun!
Oh yeah...look at what else we got to see...Cowboys Stadium! It's the first time we've seen it finished. No one here can believe how big this thing is!
Look how strong Aidan is!!!
Troy's Birthday!!
Troy turned 38 on Monday (the 11th) and I'm just now getting around to writing about it...it's been a busy week. Aidan and I got him a mig welder and welding helmet. He's been wanting to weld for as long as I've known him, so here's his chance. He was pretty surprised and every night this week he's looked at me and said eagerly, "I want to weld something". Unfortunately for him, he has been working long hours and hasn't had time. Aidan constructed a 2-story wooden, "Tegra House" complete with a flag pole, decorations, and a plaster Tegra. Along with the house, Aidan wrote a sweet and funny Tegra biography. Well, I'm not sure you can call it a true biography as she wrote the story from Tegra's perspective. We thought it was so creative and well written.
We had fun reading about all the stories we've ever told Aidan about Tegra. That kid has a great memory.
Anyway, we had dinner at Schlotzky's (Troy's favorite) and spent the evening relaxing. Happy Birthday T-Bone!!!

Mother's Day Breakfast in Bed
This morning, I awoke from a dead sleep to Aidan standing there with breakfast in bed! How sweet is that?! Turns out, she set her alarm and came in and got Troy to help her. I woke up to bacon, eggs, toast, and CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES!!! Nice touch, right?! Troy gave me a dozen pink roses...they are beautiful. Aidan gave me a charm bracelet of beachy charms...it's so sweet and pretty. I was so surprised! Aidan really spent the whole day telling me "Happy Mother's Day" and "I love you, Momma". She made me such a sweet card and drew me pictures of dogs, horses, and cats. I am so grateful to be her mom.
Happy Mother's Day to our moms...Bobbie and Linda. Thank you for all you have ever done for us and for always being there when we need you most. We love you!!

JT on SNL Tonight
Justin Timberlake is hosting Saturday Night live tonight...in about 30 minutes actually. Everyone should watch because it is sure to be the best one you've seen in a long time. He's the best, whether he's "talkin' it up on the Barry Gibb Talk Show...
or urging you to "brrring it on in to Omletteville" (Aidan's favorite)...
So funny! I can't wait!

Eww...Swine Flu!
It's all over the news, Internet, PTO meetings across the state so I guess I should put my two-cents in on the Swine Flu, excuse me, the H1N1 Flu. Thank goodness, Aidan's school has not had a case, or even a suspected case of this flu, because they would have to shut down like the many other school districts nearby have done. We have all upped our hand washing and improved our hand washing technique. My hands are so dry and I'm running out of hand lotion, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I've bleached the kitchen and bathroom sinks, faucets, counter tops, door handles...well pretty much everything. Saturday, I even cleaned the kitchen cabinets top to bottom. You know, you never truly realize how much gunk are on those things until you sit on the floor and start scrubbing...yuck! Anyway, a bunch of school districts around here are shut down at least through the end of this week, including Fort Worth, which has around 80,000 students.
Can you imagine? People are really freaking out and with good cause. I'm sure if they didn't close the schools, there would be tons of people coming down with this illness. Luckily though, it seems the symptoms are no worse than the seasonal flu...but who knows how this will play out. You know, one of my brother, Jeremy's, good friends died from the flu when he was only 19-years-old, so we get our flu shots and we go to the doctor if we suspect we have the flu...for sure!
They have been cancelling lots of events including Aidan's soccer games, practices, theater class, field trips, etc. I have to admit, going to Wal-Mart has been a little oogy for me. "Oogy" is a word we learned from our good friend and police Sergeant, Matt...haha, it was too funny a word to let go by the wayside. What I'm saying is that it gave me the heeby jeebies, but the workers were wiping the shopping carts down with bleach wipes, so I felt a little bit better about being there.
